We hold ourselves to higher standards of responsible conduct because of what it means to be part of the National Football League. We have long had policies and programs designed to encourage responsible behavior, and this policy is a further step in ensuring that everyone who is part of the NFL meets that standard.”

That’s a quote from Roger Goodell regarding the Conduct Policy of the NFL. He has backed up that quote with suspensions to players who have not lived up to its standards. Pacman Jones, Michael Vick, Santonio Holmes and others have lost game time (and game checks) as a result. But what about owners—are they not to be held to a similar standard?
