It’s Déjà vu for California head coach Jeff Tedford, who finds himself in the position of mentoring his junior running back about the pros and cons of mking the leap to the next level.
Last season, Tedford endured the process with underclassman Jahvid Best. The decision ultimately played out to be a smart one, as Best was selected in the first round by the Detroit Lions.
In steps junior running back Shane Vereen, who has been nothing short of spectacular filling in the void left by the departed Best. In 11 games this season, Vereen has popped off for an impressive 1,061 rushing yards, including a run-off of spectacular plays.
The highlight reel running back is the latest junior rumored to be weighing his NFL options and hinted this past week to the local media that he will be applying to the NFL Advisory Committee to seek out his draft projection.
