SCOUT’S NOTEBOOK: ALABAMA@TENNESSEE

The Volunteers came hard and fast after the quarterback in this matchup. But despite making a couple of big plays early on and generally hanging with the superior team for one half, the Orange and White were just trampled in the third and fourth quarters by an Alabama team that outran, outmuscled and outhustled them, as the 41-10 final score clearly  suggests.

Julio Soars Above the Competition

Playing with a broken hand may be tough for most mere mortals, but not Julio Jones who looked every bit the part of Superman in recording 12 receptions for a school- record 221 receiving yards against the lowly Vols.

Jones gave cornerback Art Evans fits all night with his sheer size and athleticism, not to mention the fact that the 6’4” playmaker’s incredible strength prevented him from being outmuscled on a number of balls thrown his way.
