Q&A: Sean Baker, Ball State

Getting to know Ball State’s Sean Baker: Sean Baker is a junior safety for the Ball State Cardinals. Last season, Baker was fifth on the team in tackles with 61 and led the team in interceptions with four. He had an outstanding freshman campaign, earning Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-America honors from Sporting News in 2008. That season, Baker recorded 94 tackles, defended 16 passes and led the Cardinals in interceptions with six. He also scored two defensive touchdowns and was named MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his three interception performance against Akron. For his efforts, the Canfield, Ohio native was named the co-recipient of Ball State’s John Hodge Award, as the team’s Most Outstanding Freshman.
