WLWT Cincinnati reports that Bengals WR Maurice Purify was arrested at 2AM Tuesday morning for disorderly conduct. Purify was taken into custody following a skirmish at Jefferson Hall, a bar in Newport (KY).
Mancini’s Take: Do you think the Bengals are having second thoughts about pursuing Adam “Pacman” Jones after hearing about this? Knowing them, probably not. Ending up behind bars is nothing new for Purify, who was arrested twice during his days as a Nebraska Cornhusker, as well as being suspended by his team. What’s happens now to the troubled receiver is irrelevant. His chances of making the team were already slim and this latest incident makes him radioactive. The fact is the Bengals should have never brought him in as a rookie free agent back in 2008. It’s somewhat plausible to imagine a team rolling the dice on one, maybe two, problem individuals with checkered pasts, but Cincy has
