University of Washington quarterback Jake Locker informed the Angels that he suffered a minor hand injury during spring football with the Huskies and will not be able to play baseball this summer, according to the Orange County Register.
The Angels drafted Locker in the 10th round last year and had hoped to have him play for one of their rookie-level minor-league teams this summer. Locker reportedly has taken a stance that he’d prefer to concentrate strictly on playing football.
There was no elaboration or explanation provided for the hand injury. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
