Heisman: Cam Newton CFI’s Unanimous Pick

College Football Insiders Staff Breakdown: All 20 members of the College Football Insiders staff voted Cam Newton as their Heisman Trophy pick. Newton was the only player on all 20 ballots. Oregon’s LaMichael James edged Andrew Luck of Stanford for second place with 11 second-place votes, the most of any candidate. Luck had the second most second-place votes and led with eight third-place votes. The Stanford man was actually on more ballots than James (17 to 16). Oklahoma State’s Justin Blackmon was the only other player to receive more than one vote. Boise State’s Kellen Moore, who is invited to New York, received a single third-place vote, as did fellow quarterbacks Ryan Mallett and Denard Robinson, as well as defenders Nick Fairley and Da’Quan Bowers. Auburn was the only team with two players to receive a vote.
