The proverb has been used since at least the mid-16th century when the saying, “Brydes of on kynde and color flok and flye allwayes together,” as William Turner wrote back in his 1545 satire, The Rescuing of Romish Fox.
Jump ahead to the 21st century and it translates to, “Birds of a feather flock together.” This holds true for some former Oregon Ducks who now play in the NFL. Following the Sunday night game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, former Oregon safety Patrick Chung and quarterback Dennis Dixon shared a hello and talked some Oregon Ducks football.
“We control our own destiny,” Dixon said about the Ducks, who stand atop the BCS standings. “It’s totally up to us.” Excited yet collected Dixon said, “We’ve got two more games, Arizona and Oregon State. It’s going to be tough but I like our chances.”
