Team Needs: Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals: Team Needs Rookie Review On The Clock Insider Podcast

2011 NFL Draft

  • QB – There’s no denying the Cardinals had a serious drop off in quarterback production in 2010. Arizona possesses one of the best playmakers in the league in Larry Fitzgerald but he needs to be paired with an elite passer who can maximize his potential and bring balance to the offense.  While the Cardinals have some backup type passers in Max Hall and John Skelton, they need the quarterback of the future and will likely address the glaring need in the draft as well as free agency.
  • OG – The Cardinals have a solid tackle in Levi Brown but not much outside of him, as Jeremy Bridges is more of a swing tackle and the rest of Arizona’s starting line might be leaving town.  Alan Faneca, Deuce Lutui,

Rookie Review: Atlanta Falcons

Atlanata Falcons: Team Needs Rookie Review On The Clock Insider Podcast

NFL Draft Class 2010

(1-19) Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri: The trash talking hit-and-run linebacker brought new energy to the defense and turned heads with his ability to play multiple positions. ‘Spoon did make his share of rookie miscues, such as getting caught out of position in pass coverage. He was also hampered by a knee injury for part of the season. The Missouri product’s speed and aggressiveness should be an asset for years to come. Grade: C+

(3-83) Corey Peters, DT, Kentucky: He started 14 games and was by far the biggest difference maker among Atlanta’s rookies. The Pittsburgh native held the point versus the run and gave blockers fits with his quick hand movement. Peters also played hard every down but wasn’t much of a pass-rusher. Outside of his standard bull

Rookie Review: Arizona Cardinals

NFL Draft Class 2010

(1-26) Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee: “Dumpster Dan” started his NFL journey on the wrong foot by failing to keep his weight in check and wound up being benched as a result. He came on late in the year by making plays in goal-line situations. Williams has quick feet and solid anticipatory skills. He should be the full-time starter in 2011. Grade: C+

(2-47) Daryl Washington, ILB, TCU: He was in and out of the starting lineup, as he kept learning throughout the season. Washington used his speed, lateral agility and uncanny instincts to flow to the ball but there were also moments when he struggled to get off blocks. He brought a much-needed element of explosiveness to Arizona’s linebacker corps. The man is a keeper. Grade: B+

(3-88) Andre Roberts, WR, Citadel: Suffered more than his share of drops and fumbles but

NFL: Billboard 100 | Owners vs Players

NFL Draft Bible Insider Bo Marchionte is a proud member of the Pro Football Writers Association of America.

Owners might look back and say Didn’t We Almost Have It All? Because although it’s been only weeks since players have been Locked Out, with owners telling them to Beat It. It seems like Five Years, so come on, Let’s Work Together, Under Pressure…like Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 to solve this labor issue.

Are both sides Out of Touch fighting over billions, because I Wanna Be A Billioniare also. But there’s just way too much Jive Talkin’ and Bad Blood lately for my liking. I can hear the echoes in my head of The Captain and Tennille saying Love Will Keep Us Together. Not in this case.

Hey Ya! Pick Up the Pieces and be Together Again. It’s Now or Never, there has been too much (Hey

Chris Carter: Ready To Dominate

CHRIS CARTER: READY TO DOMINATE

While many undersized college defensive ends are working hard to adapt to the outside linebacker position in the pros, Western Atlantic Conference (WAC) defensive player of the year Chris Carter isn’t just looking to blend in—he’s aiming to outshine the rest of the pack.

Throughout his days as a Fresno State Bulldog, Carter has never let any obstacles stand in the way of his development. In fact, in easily one of his most memorable games versus Wisconsin’s vaunted offensive line in 2009, the 6’2”, 250-pound game wrecker ran circles around Gabe Carimi and company by posting two sacks and six tackles…all with a broken hand.

In a recent interview with the NFL Draft Bible, the proactive defender detailed his meticulous study habits that have enabled him to be one of the most disruptive players available in

Draft Blast: Allen Bradford Under The Radar?

Draft Bible Insider Bo Marchionte Presents ‘Draft Blast,’ featuring an intriguing perspective on future stars of the NFL.

Growing up, I spent my summers helplessly riding around with my mother and her sisters as they would go to countless garage sales. Perhaps those endless days in some way helped me hone my ability to identify “bargain” players; guys who won’t get invites to fly on the owner’s private jet when they hear their name called on draft day, if they hear it called at all. This is America. We loved Rocky because he was the underdog. Take nothing away from Clubber Lang, he worked hard too, but there is something about being at the bottom and rising to the top.

Over the last couple years, a few running backs have stood out to me. These were players who I thought, if given the chance, would
