On Location: Senior Bowl North Recap | Day 3

MOBILE, AL–On location stock report from the North team’s third practice at the 2011 Senior Bowl.

↑ANTHONY CASTONZO – OT – BOSTON COLLEGE: Boston College has produced a lot of fine offensive linemen and Castonzo is right in that same vein.  He’s got great size and tremendous athletic ability for a 300+ pound man, but he’s also got the explosion necessary to dominate in the running game.  He showed great understand of positioning today, getting ahead of both and Jeremy Beal and Ryan Kerrigan in drills.

↑KENDALL HUNTER – RB – OKLAHOMA STATE: Hunter has been on display today and got to flash his explosiveness in catching drills as well as the scrimmage, where he did an excellent job of battling during

MOBILE, AL–On location stock report from the South team’s second practice at the 2011 Senior Bowl.

↑ LUKE STOCKER – TE – TENNESSEE: Stocker was very consistent in catching drills and one-on-one practice with his hands today.  He uses his large frame so well to separate from defenders and shield the ball away from opposing coverage.  However, he didn’t block that well, bending at the waist a little too much and over-extending with his arms, but that’s something that should improve as the week continues.

↑ JEREMY KERLEY – WR – TCU: The former Horned Frog had a real chance to shine today with the absence of Edmund Gates, who was out with a hamstring injury. Kerley is extremely quick in and out of his

MOBILE, AL–On location stock report from the North team’s second practice at the 2011 Senior Bowl.

↑ VINCENT BROWN – WR – SAN DIEGO STATE: Brown flashed his ability early in practice yesterday and his pass-catching skills were on display again today. He’s impressed by snagging passes regardless of where they were thrown. He caught a terrible pass by Colin Kaepernick that was thrown behind him and proceeded to spin around, snatch the ball out of the air, and turn up field with ease.

↑ CAMERON JORDAN – DT – CALIFORNIA: This isn’t breaking news but Cameron Jordan was unblockable today, just as he has been during his career at California. Jordan was a force from the inside and was able to bully around every interior linemen that he

MOBILE, AL–On location stock report from the South team’s first practice at the 2011 Senior Bowl.

↑ LEONARD HANKERSON – WR – MIAMI: It was impossible to ignore the impeccable route running and hands that Hankerson put on display today. He was able to gain separation from all the defensive backs in drills and did not let any passes thrown his way touch the ground. His deep speed isn’t elite but he’s a good enough technician to make up for that with his craftiness and terrific hands.

↑ DERRICK LOCKE – RB – KENTUCKY: Derrick Locke is putting on a show thus far with his nifty footwork and cat-like quickness. He has been impressive out of the backfield as well on check downs, and he has already shown off his trademark creativity in open space. The former Wildcat is turning heads and had scouts

On Location: Senior Bowl North Recap | Day 1

MOBILE, AL–On location report from the North team’s first practice at the 2011 Senior Bowl.

* This is going to be a big week for both Austin Pettis and Titus Young of Boise State, as they need to show that they can consistently compete with top-level talent. While Pettis looked really good in drills and responded well to coaching, Young looked just the opposite, often hanging his head after a drop. Young also has to deal with that fact that many people are worried about his lack of size. At the weigh-in Monday morning he came in at 5’11”, 174 pounds.  It will be interesting to see if the two former Broncos continue to go in opposite directions the rest of the week.

* Jake Locker showed a little bit of why he was at one time projected as the top pick in the
