Tennessee Titans rookie DL Derrick Morgan hasn’t been able to make much of an impression this offseason, according to John Glennon, of The Tennessean. He strained a hamstring on his first day of summer workouts and later injured his calf, leaving him unable to perform at top speed. The Titans had hoped Morgan would be back at full speed for the final week of offseason workouts, but Morgan has been inactive. “We could choose to get him out here and try to do the drills and subject him to a setback potentially,” head coach Jeff Fisher said. “(But) we decided we’re just going to wait. We’d rather have him training 100 percent in the month of July and coming to camp.”

Buccaneers Rookies Battle For WR Job
Tampa Bay fourth-rounder Mike Williams is ahead of second-round Arrelious Benn after spring practices, according to the St. Petersburg Times. The Bucs are lacking depth at wide out and it isn’t that far-fetched to belive that both rookies could eventually wind up starting.
Titans See Potential In LeGarrette Blount
Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said he has been impressed with how RB LeGarrette Blount has performed during offseason even though he was not able to participate in the team’s May workouts because of school commitments, according to The Tennessean’s Jim Wyatt. ‘He is picking things up, he is catching the ball well,’ Fisher said. ‘He is a big, strong instinctive runner. It is hard to evaluate a big back in pads.’
Cowboys To Use Owusu-Ansah At Free Safety
Dallas Cowboys FS Akwasi Owusu-Ansah (shoulder) likely will not compete with Alan Ball for the starting free safety during training camp because he miss all of the team’s offseason workouts while recovering from shoulder surgery.
Considering his measureables, its a bit surprising to hear that the plan is to use Owusu-Ansah at free safety but that speaks to the depth of the Dallas Cowboys, who plan to figure into the Super Bowl equation. The small school talent could have a similar career to that as Malcolm Jenkins with his versatility, eventually there will be a need for another quality corner and down the line, Owusu-Ansah could get the call.
Darrell Scott Running With The Bulls
Once the top running back recruit in the nation and a five-star Rivals prospect, Darrell Scott spent two tumultuous years at Colorado being frequently injured and either lazy or woefully miscast in Dan Hawkins’ offense, depending on who you talked to. Via Facebook, it appears he’s now headed to South Florida, not UCLA, as previously speculated, where he’ll do one year of bench time and have two years of eligibility remaining, if all goes to plan, according to reports.
Scouting The Defensive Ends: Class of 2013
Here’s a look at the top sophomore defensive end prospects entering the 2010 season.
1. Alex Okafor, Texas – Whether it was Tim Crowder and Brian Robison, Brian Orakpo and Sergio Kindle, or Sam Acho and Lamarr Houston, the Longhorns have a tradition of tandem pass rushers leading their defensive front. This year the expectation is that Okafor will team up with Acho (10 sacks in 2009) to form one of the top duos in the nation when it comes to getting to the quarterback. Even though he didn’t make a single start or record a sack the true-freshman was impressive, providing depth for Mack Brown and company by backing up Kindle and Acho. Okafor was explosive enough to get into the backfield to
