The Patriots have come to terms with free agent defensive lineman Damione Lewis, who was released by the Panthers.

Draft Impact: While Lewis provides depth insurance, he is by no means the solution the Patriots are seeking in the middle. Lewis will be switching from the 4-3 in Carolina to the 3-4 in New England, which he seems to be better suited for.

David Caldwell led William & Mary in tackles his sophomore (107) and junior (78) years, though his stats dipped a bit his senior year (58 tackles) as the team reached the semifinals of the NCAA Football Championship Series playoffs.

The former All-Essex County running back for Montclair High, who also went to Lawrenceville for one post-graduate year, was used mainly as a box safety for the Tribe. But he played cornerback as a freshman and was used as the nickelback matched up on slot receivers through his college career, so he is comfortable in coverage as well.

As a projected priority free agent or possible late-round pick, he knows his special teams ability is key which is good, because he calls that “my thing.” He was used on most of the units at William & Mary, returning kicks and covering punts, and also returned a blocked field

NFL personnel men love Morehouse Colloge prospect Ramon Harewood, a massive 6-foot-7, 355-pound offensive tackle, and the native of Barbados is a physics and engineering major who wows scouts with his blend of intelligence and physicality. NFL types don’t always make it to Morehouse’s pro day, but almost 20 teams were represented this year, and they were all there to check out a prospect who projects to either the seventh round or priority free-agent.

Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel reports the Miami Dolphins met with Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant on Thursday night in “a get to know you session” that will carry over until Friday, according to league sources.

The Associated Press reports Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant is annoyed by the amount of criticism he has received before the 2010 NFL Draft. Bryant said, “I’m not the type of person that will try to confront somebody, but now I feel like it’s gone too far. It’s gone too far. I ain’t never got in trouble with nobody. I never said anything. I don’t say anything wrong to nobody. I’m friendly. This here is too far.” Bryant has dealt with questions about his background and rumors that he skipped meetings, classes and was late for games in college.
