NFL Free Agent Frenzy: Cornerbacks
Mar 15th
Dallas Signs Brandon Carr.
There is no other way to describe the Cowboys secondary last year other than abysmal. The signing of Brandon Carr (5yr/$50.1M) represents a huge upgrade and should certainly help out the Rob Ryan led defense. It also allows Dallas some flexibility in the draft. While pairing a top corner from the draft will be enticing, they can also entertain other options if a player high on their board slides. Projection: 50tck 5int 18pd
St. Louis Signs Cortland Finnegan.
This move demonstrates the pull that new head coach Jeff Fisher holds in personnel decisions. Bringing in Cortland Finnegan (5yr/$50M) from Tennessee seems to make sense, as he will thrive in a system that he is well versed in but the Rams overpaid her and justifiably so. Finnegan is a good, not great cornerback
NFL Free Agent Frenzy: Tampa Bay Bucs
Mar 15th
Tampa Bay Signs Vincent Jackson.
The Bucs made a big splash with the signing of Vincent Jackson (5yr/$55.5M) and while it looks like a lot of money for a wide out on the verge of 30, the deal is structured as a two-year, $26M contract, nothing is guaranteed beyond that. V-Jax gives the new regime in Tampa a tall deep threat target that can stretch the field, something they sorely lacked. Projection: 65rec 1100yds 8td
Tampa Bay Signs Carl Nicks.
Unlike last year, Tampa decided to make use of their cap space and struck again by making Carl Nicks (5yr/$47.5M) the highest paid guard in NFL history with a contract that includes $31M guaranteed. New head coach Greg Schiano loves to run the ball between the tackles, so adding Nicks to go along with Davin Joseph

NFL Draft Rumblings From The Weekend
Mar 12th
ARE RAMS CONTEMPLATING TRENT RICHARDSON?
Multiple team sources tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the Rams believe Alabama RB Trent Richardson is a "special talent," and the club thinks "very highly" of the 2011 Heisman finalist. "If you're picking the best available player, it could easily be him," said ex-NFL scout Dave Razzano of Richardson and the Rams' No. 6 overall pick. "He's a thoroughbred. And he's more of a home-run threat than (Steven) Jackson." Richardson will work out for NFL teams on March 29.
POSSIBLE GLITCH IN KENDALL WRIGHT’S FORTY TIME
After speaking to front office men around the NFL, Dan Pompei of the National Football Post writes that Baylor WR Kendall Wright's 4.61 "may have been the most misleading forty time of the Combine." Wright actually ran in the 4.4s, but was credited with being
