Da’Quan Bowers: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow?
May 21st
The agent for Da’Quan Bowers acknowledges that his client’s knee problems will reappear “pretty quick” if they’re going to cause him long-term trouble. “Dr. Andrews said if there were going to be problems (down the road), they’d show up pretty quick,” agent Joe Flanagan said. “He hasn’t had any swelling, soreness or pain. He didn’t have a good (Pro Day), but the fact that he did the workout at all was impressive.” Flanagan continued to insist Bowers is “way ahead of schedule” after January knee surgery, and compared his client’s situation to those of Willis McGahee and Thurman Thomas.
Mancini’s Take: As far as comparison go, Tampa Bay GM Mark Dominik came up with a real gem when comparing Bowers’ situation that of Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, who tore patella tendons in both knees, but still found a way to get back on the field. He also brought up his

Ex-Cat Jacob Tamme Working Out, Waiting
May 20th
Jacob Tamme became a bit of a fantasy football legend this past year for the Indianapolis Colts.
Tamme entered the season with a career-high six catches for 47 yards and zero touchdowns. He finished the 2010 season with 67 catches, 631 yards and four touchdowns.
For those who were lucky enough to pick up Tamme before 2010 began, that’s what you call a steal.
“I’ve heard that about 15,000 times, which is cool,” said Tamme, who was in Lexington on Tuesday to speak at the annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Dinner at Southland Christian Church. “I didn’t even know how the whole fantasy team thing worked. My brother, apparently, had me on his fantasy team since my rookie year, putting up zero points every week for years. He finally got rewarded with a couple of points there last year. He told me it

Draft Insider: Top 10 Senior Tight Ends
May 20th
The top 10 senior running backs, according to NFL Draft Guru Justin Van Fulpen. Counting you down to the 2012 NFL Draft…
1. Michael Egnew, Missouri – The Tiger has some of the most reliable hands among senior tight ends, which he displayed by registering 90 catches in 2010. He is long at 6’5”, but at 235-240 pounds he lacks the bulk of a true in-line tight end, so it should come as no surprise that he is not a great blocker. Egnew is an impressive athlete with the ability to stretch the defense, but if he’s going to make his living as a pass catcher, NFL teams want to see better run after-the-catch ability from the Big 12 product.
2. George Bryan, North Carolina State – Bryan has shown steady improvement over his college career, which includes the
