2011 NFL Draft Stock Watch: 12/28/10

With the holiday now out of the way, the NFL Draft is drawing closer by the day. Each and every week we see prospects that elevate their draft stock, but we also see players that slide down draft boards for a number of different reasons. With that in mind, here’s the Holiday edition of our Draft Stock Watch, a list of six players that are on their way up draft boards and six others that are heading in the opposite direction.

Ryan Kerrigan Accepts Invitation To Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. The North roster for next month’s Under Armour Senior Bowl just got a whole lot better. Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan, the reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, has officially accepted an invitation to the 2011 game.

Kerrigan’s invitation marks a fifth straight year at least one Boilermaker will play in the prestigious game, and he is the 13th Purdue representative in the past eight seasons.

The 62nd game is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 29 in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. It will be televised live by NFL Network.

“Ryan has proven to be one of the most dominant pass rushers in the nation,” said Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale. “He is an outstanding prospect and a player that I think will really turn some heads down here in Mobile.”

That spot will be appropriately decided in a final-game clash between Seattle and St. Louis. There’s one wild card spot up for grabs and it’s in the hands of the Packers, with the Giants deservedly on the outside looking in.

The G-Men are in that predicament because they were embarrassed

“When I was growing up we didn’t win very many games, so that’s what I always wanted,” said Art Rooney II, President of the Pittsburgh Steelers. “As time went on, thank God we started to win. It was 38 years ago that the Immaculate Reception happened, and that’s when things started to turn around. That was a great Christmas present.”

Any fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers must sleep like a baby knowing their owner was wishing for wins for Christmas as a little boy growing up. After the Steelers handled the struggling Carolina Panthers 27-3 at Heinz Field, the players were able to get a head start on a long weekend, as Coach Tomlin was giving the team off until Monday.

Mr. Rooney walked over shoulder pads and sweaty jerseys to shake hands and say ‘Merry Christmas’ to any of the 53 men that helped the
