The Rosstradamus: Week 6 Ramble

Half a dozen weeks are in the books and the NFL season is beginning to take shape. Pretenders have been unmasked and contenders have risen up. Some teams have, at long last, learned valuable lessons while others just can’t seem to do the right thing.

The New York Jets are certainly contenders, but they’ve been telling us that for months. Gang Green overcame the Denver Broncos 24-20 to secure their 5th consecutive win and remain atop the AFC East. The come-from-behind road victory wasn’t a pretty one; the Jets committed three turnovers, saw Denver outgain them offensively, and generally played as if they’d been in a hard-fought Monday night game the previous week. SEC Football Legends: Class of 2010 | John Mackey Midseason Watch List

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech filled in a piece of its future non-conference football schedules by agreeing to a four-year deal with Brigham Young University, beginning in 2012.

The Yellow Jackets and Cougars will play in 2012 and 2014 in Atlanta. In 2013 and 2017, Tech will travel to Provo, Utah.

“The addition of Brigham Young to our future football schedules helps ensure that Georgia Tech will continue to play quality non-conference opponents,” Yellow Jacket athletic director Dan Radakovich said. “With its strong tradition and history, BYU is a good fit for us.”
