DeMarco Murray Leads the Way

Oklahoma senior tailback DeMarco Murray had a solid day against a very motivated Texas defense, rushing for 115 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries (4.6) and adding four receptions for 31 yards through the air. He still has too many negative/no-gain carries for my liking and is more of a straight-line runner, but this was as good as I’ve seen Murray run the football.

Murray can be very explosive, scoring from 18 and

Randy Moss Heads Back to Minnesota

The Rosstradamus: Week 4 Ramble Behind the Steel Curtain

The Vikings acquired WR Randy Moss and a 2012 seventh-round pick from the Patriots in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Mandel’s Take: This trade made too much sense for both teams for it not to happen. Minnesota is a win-now team that lost their primary receiving option before the season started. Without Sidney Rice, Brett Favre and the offense were clearly floundering. Moss now gives the ol’ gunslinger the #1 target he needs, and Moss gets the on-field attention that he so clearly desires. New England, unlike most professional sports teams, understands long-term thinking. They realized they weren’t going to win the Super Bowl this season, not with that defense, and got a third-round pick for Moss. They weren’t going to resign Moss at

Ten thoughts from around the college football landscape, straight from the mind of Lloyd Ribner III.

1) Virginia Tech had lost twice going into this weekend, including being embarrassed by James Madison. The Hokies were facing a 17-0 deficit to an undefeated, conference foe, North Carolina State. Frank Beamer rallied his troops, who for this first time this year came away with a meaningful victory. The offense, led by Tyrod Taylor and Darren Evans, stormed back in the fourth quarter, scoring two touchdowns in

Player reviews from Miami Clemson.

Stock Up: Leonard Hankerson

Miami’s senior wide receiver matched a season-high with seven receptions and set career-highs with his 147 receiving yards and three touchdown catches. The 205-pound, almost 6’3” pass catcher can solidify a mid-round grade if he continues to play at a high level this season.

Leonard Hankerson isn’t known as a burner but displayed the ability to stretch the field with his second touchdown reception going for 65 yards over the top of the Clemson defense. With no safety help, the Tigers left Hankerson

Behind The Steel Curtain: Big Ben Back

The Rosstradamus: Week 4 Ramble

“They did enough to win, we didn’t. Such is life in the NFL,” said Mike Tomlin after the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field 17-14.

Such is life in the NFL, where two uncompromising defenses would look to take control of the game and give the offense one moment to strike. “Coach Tomlin and Coach LeBeau said if you give this guy time – if you give him opportunities to hit guys – he’s going to hit them,” said Steelers’ starting free safety Ryan Clark about Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco. Flacco lived up to his “Joe Cool” nickname. The third-year pro was in total control leading the Ravens’ final drive, delivering four straight completions, including the 18-yard game winner to T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

“You come in here and win this game…it’s important for us, it’s important for a lot
